The easiest thing to learn is that you should life heavy weights for shorter times. To start, choose a muscle group. For this example, do the chest. Warm up with lighter weights, going through the motions but not working too hard. Doing 15 to 20 reps of your warm-up weight is ideal. When you move to your next set, choose a weight level at which you are able to do no more than 6-8 repetitions. One the third set increase this weight by five pounds, doing the most reps you can.
When you are using cycling for an exercise, aim to maintain a pace of between 80 and 110 revolutions per minute. This will allow you to ride faster and farther, and with less knee strain and fatigue. Your pace can easily be determined by calculating how many times the right leg rises up in ten second increments. Once you have this number, multiply it by six. This should help you to find a pace that is right for you.
When doing any exercise that you need to keep a count of, begin with the target number and count backwards from there. Counting down makes it easier for you to keep track of your reps as well as keeping you motivated.
